The next in the collection is an Ajrakh hand block printed chanderi saree in black with red and multicolour, finished by an intricate pallu.

Made in Ajrakhpur by skilled Khatri artisans, this saree carries generations of craft in every inch. More than 10 different hand-carved wooden blocks have been used to bring this piece to life. Each layer of print is done patiently, block by block, colour by colour, with precision that only years of practice can bring.

Please iron on low heat and always on the back side of the saree, to help maintain its finish and texture.

A small note on colour bleeding : since this is a handcrafted saree and dyed using traditional methods, slight colour bleeding in the first few washes can happen. This is completely normal and not a defect. It settles over time with proper care.

Tiny irregularities are a sign of handwork, not flaws. Slight overlaps, softer prints or variations in motifs are reminders that no machine was involved.

A few simple tips to care for it:

• Always wash separately, especially for the first few washes
• Use cold water only and avoid soaking for long
• Add a spoon of rock salt to the first rinse to help excess dye settle naturally
• Do not scrub, wring or twist the saree harshly
• Dry in shade and avoid direct sunlight to help preserve the richness of the colour
• Keep away from light coloured garments while washing or when damp

Wash Care

• Dry clean is recommended for the first wash and for long lasting colour and finish
• If washing at home, gently hand-wash separately in cold water with a very mild liquid detergent
• Do not soak the saree for long periods
• Iron on low to medium heat on the reverse side of the saree
• Avoid direct ironing
• Store folded in a cotton or muslin cloth and avoid plastic covers for long storage

Material: Chanderi/Length: 6.2m, with blouse/ Width of the saree: 44"

Actual colour of the saree may vary slightly due to lighting, camera and screen resolutions.
